Had been soooo busy recently!
1. Overloaded at work, numerous procedure changes and system updates, I'm like working for 3 bosses now ( 1 in SG, 1 in US, 1 in AU), everything concern me, every morning when I reach office, among the 200emails, almost half of them are dedicated to me.... "Hi Grace..." "Dear Grace...". From updating system manually to lost shipments and procedure writing, basically anything about supply planning that managers don't do and planners don't do, it becomes my job!
2. Besides the bi-monthly worship leading, I was appointed to be the worship leader for darling Huifen and PJE's church wedding (she booked me 6 months ago)! It was stressful because I've never host a wedding b4 in front of 400 over ppl and I was very afraid of ruining a gd fren's precious wedding... Thank God for the wonderful worship team, for giving me the most appropriate words to say, and that everything went smoothly despite the lack of limited preparation time, the adults are especially pleased with my performance ;) And I really thank darling for believing that I can do it, it's my pleasure to be part of her special wedding. 3. Recently my best friends and I put ourselves into something crazy! We are all so busy at work so because of this additional commitment, we have almost zero time for other friends -- We got into top 16 of SUPERBAND2! Audition was held in early April, we did not tell anyone because we don't want anyone to recognize us if we fail the audition! I even use a fake name (Vienne) to camouflage hahahah, partly because Grace is not very suitable to be a screen name. They said that they received 300 applications, but we really don't think there's so many groups went for the auditions. But still it's like a miracle that we can get into top 16. Because from what we see all the pther bands/groups received good feedbacks from the judges. While the judges only gave us 3 doubtful questions and did not even nod their head once when we sang. (worst is the background music we prepared was not accepted and we could not find any minus-one CD in the whole TPY, we just sang w/o music on the spot, and of course forgot lyrics again.) And we felt that we are soooo old! Most of the others are teenagers while we are like.... erm.... 20 something old women.
I kept feeling lost of speech when they ask why we join superband. Because we really don't know why we joined... we just feel that it's like a little dream we had when we were young and we've already past that passionate age, if we don't do it now, we know we'll never have the courage (and we'll be really too old) to try again. Are we after fame? No, cos we definitely hate to be recognized on the street. Are we after the money? Neither, cos there's only 1 Grand Prize and we believe that the Grand Prize winner would be a band and not a singing group (who can't dance and play any instruments properly, and with some old ladies -.-) We are actually just responding to their call on the advertisement - ppl who love music to come to the music playground to play! We're here to have fun! As long as we have fun, we have won something! And of course MayDay being the ambassador is a pulling factor, hope that we can stay in the game till we can meet MayDay!
Although mediacorp is not really a very glamorous place. But it's a special experience for us to do makeup and hair side by side with some local artists and to take professional photo shoots and even short MV shoots at their studios! It's really a relaxing job because everything is arranged, we jus have to follow instructions. And at our age, we are no more nervous anxious little girls, but sadly, we don't have the confidence that our age should have either.
Our group name is "Dandelion". Von and I tot of this when having lunch at Billy Bombers. Jus find it sounds nice. Our meaning to it - to be free, to fly, and to spread happiness. Unfortunately the producers said it's too hard to pronounce, and it's Chinese program so it's better to have Chinese name. Then they gave us the very old-fashioned name - 蒲公英 >.< We don't know how to live with such a name =.= Pls call us "Dandelion" instead!!!

dun have yet. Mediacorp do things very slow, news update like snail. But we recorded a demo tape ourselves (jus $10!!! but have to go very far to Jurong). I try to ask CF make a few copies or I bring back u help me make copies? (but can hardly hear my voice cos me alto haha)
Btw competition on air start mid-June. 1st public performance b4 competition is 1June. They say will have short MV and printed advertisement by mid May wor (which we did in late April).
